Board Views

Switch between Kanban, List, Calendar, and Timeline views in ShopTasks to visualize your tasks in the way that works best for your team.

Board Views

ShopTasks gives you multiple ways to visualize tasks on a board. Switch between views to find the perspective that works best for the work at hand.

Kanban View

The default board view. Tasks are displayed as cards arranged in columns that represent statuses (e.g. To Do, In Progress, Done).

  • Drag and drop cards between columns to update their status.
  • Each card shows the task title, assignee avatar, priority indicator, and due date.
  • Click a card to open the full task detail panel.

Kanban is ideal for tracking workflow progress at a glance.

List View

A table-style view where each task is a row. Columns display key fields:

  • Title
  • Assignee
  • Priority
  • Due date
  • Status
  • Labels

Click any column header to sort. This view is great for bulk reviewing or when you need to scan many tasks quickly.

Calendar View

Tasks are placed on a calendar based on their due date. This view helps you:

  • Spot scheduling conflicts and overloaded days.
  • Drag tasks to a different date to reschedule.
  • See upcoming deadlines at a glance.

Only tasks with a due date appear in the calendar view.

Timeline View

A horizontal timeline (Gantt-style) that shows tasks as bars spanning from their creation date to their due date. Use this to:

  • Visualize task duration and overlap.
  • Identify bottlenecks where too many tasks run in parallel.
  • Plan work distribution across your team.

Switching Views

Use the view switcher in the top-right corner of any board. Click the icon for the view you want:

  • Kanban (columns icon)
  • List (rows icon)
  • Calendar (calendar icon)
  • Timeline (horizontal bars icon)

Your selected view is remembered per board, so each board can have its own default view.

Tips

  • Use Kanban for daily standups and sprint-style workflows.
  • Use List when you need to sort, filter, or scan large volumes of tasks.
  • Use Calendar for deadline-driven work like marketing campaigns or seasonal launches.
  • Use Timeline for project planning and resource allocation.
