Connecting Slack

Integrate ShopTasks with Slack to get task notifications, automation alerts, and board activity delivered straight to your team's channels.

Connecting Your Workspace

1. Go to Settings from the sidebar.
2. Scroll to the Connections section.
3. Click Connect Slack.
4. You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the connection. Select the workspace you want to connect and click Allow.
5. Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to ShopTasks. Your Slack workspace will now show as connected.

Setting Up Board Channels

Each board can have its own dedicated Slack channel. When activity happens on a board, notifications are sent to that channel.

1. Open a board and go to Settings (gear icon).
2. In the Slack channel section, select the channel you want to link.
3. Click Save.

Now, when tasks are created, completed, or moved on this board, your team gets a message in the linked channel.

What Gets Sent to Slack

Once connected, the following events can be sent to Slack:

• Task created on a board with a linked channel
• Task completed with a summary of what was done
• Task assigned so the assignee and team are aware
• Automation fired when a policy triggers a task or notification
• Due-date reminders for upcoming and overdue tasks

Managing the Connection

To disconnect Slack, return to Settings > Connections and click Disconnect. This stops all Slack notifications but does not affect your tasks or boards.

You can reconnect at any time by following the same setup steps.

Tips

• Create a dedicated channel like #shop-tasks for general notifications, and use board-specific channels for focused teams.
• Pair with automation policies — when a policy fires (e.g. high-value order detected), the resulting task notification appears in Slack instantly.
• Don't worry about noise. You can always adjust which boards have Slack channels and which notification events are enabled in Settings.
